No pet fee

Pet friendly RV camping in Tallahassee

Inside pets are welcome at no extra fee. Keep them leashed and walk them in the designated areas, including the dog walk area.

Where pet stays go wrong at RV parks

At a lot of parks the pet rules show up as a surprise fee at the register, or as a pen staked out beside the neighbor's rig with a dog barking inside it. Unleashed dogs on a gravel loop road are worse, because rigs are backing into sites and a small dog is easy to miss from the driver's seat.

Travelers with pets learn to ask three questions before they book: is there a fee, where do the dogs go, and what does the park do about the breeds nobody wants next door.

How pets work at Tallahassee RV Park

Inside pets are welcome, and there are no additional fees for children or pets. Keep your pet leashed at all times and walk it in the designated areas, including the dog walk area on the grounds.

Nothing gets set up outside the rig: no pens, crates, kennels, fencing or dog houses. Pets live inside the RV, which keeps the loop road clear for backing in and keeps each site looking tidy under the oaks and pines.

The park is at 6504 Mahan Drive in Tallahassee, less than a mile off I-10 Exit 209A, so after a travel day the first leash walk starts a short way from the interstate. Call (850) 878-7641 if you have questions about your pet.

The restricted list and the buildings rule

No American Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Dobermans or other aggressive breeds are allowed at the park. That is the park's rule, so if your dog is on the list, talk to the office before you plan the stay.

Pets are not allowed inside any building, which includes the clubhouse and the office. Plan on walking the dog while the rest of the family uses the clubhouse kitchen, and keep the leash in your hand on the way.

8 AMQuiet time ends

The first walk of the day starts at 8 AM.

Quiet time runs from 10 PM to 8 AM, so the morning walk begins when it ends. Clip on the leash, head for the dog walk area, and be back before the staff finish raking pine needles along the loop. Check-out is 11:00 AM when you are ready to roll on through Tallahassee.
